Synopsis
On a Thursday in February, 12 years ago, the wife of film maker Joop van Wijk received a phone call: her 38-year-old sister, the mother of 2 young children, was missing. A month later, she found out that her sister had been killed by 11 blows with an axe. It emerged that her sister's husband had killed her. The culprit confessed and was charged and convicted. He has now served his sentence. The case is closed, or so it seems. But that's not how if feels for the people involved.

ANATOMY OF A MURDER provides a precise reconstruction of the murder: how did it happen, how could it happen? Killer, family, friends and police have their say. Not to repeat the trial but to see justice done in the complexity of motives and emotions that surround a family drama like this.
